Community First Responders

Bawdsey is in the area covered by the HABSS Community First Responders, a group of locally based volunteers working under the control of the East of England Ambulance Service. We attend medical emergencies and, being local, we can usually reach the patient while the ambulance is still on its way. On arrival, we provide the initial assistance the patient needs, including emergency life support if necessary.

In an emergency, call 999 (or 112). Don't call us directly, the ambulance control desk will do that.

You can find more information on the HABSS website or from the group coordinator, Rod Webb, at or on 01394 410198.

We are currently looking for more volunteers to train as First Responders and join the group.
