East Anglia ONE Onshore cable route construction
Road works in Ferry Road – From 14 May to 20 May 2018
Dear Resident
I am writing to you about construction activity in your area in relation to the East Anglia ONE offshore windfarm project. The onshore cable route associated with the project is approximately 37km (23 miles) in length and is mainly located on farmland with some crossings of public highways, footpaths and bridleways. The route runs from a new substation in Burstall, around the north of Ipswich to Bawdsey, where it connects to the offshore cables.
A TO15 traffic control system will be implemented on Ferry Road and the road will be closed to road users. When a vehicle / pedestrian approaches the works, contractors will continue working prior to making the work site passable 15 minutes after the road user was stopped. Steel road plates will be placed over any open trench to allow vehicles to safely pass by the work site. You will not be held up for more than 15 minutes before being allowed to pass through.
Ferry Road will be fully accessible outside our working hours of 0700-1900.
I apologise for the inconvenience. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Yours faithfully
